I’m a Mission Bend native running to represent the place I have called home since I was four years old. I will fight for lower property taxes, expanding Medicaid, and fixing our broken power grid so no Texan ever goes cold in the dark again.
James Burnett has been an activist, community leader, and public servant for over a decade. A Fort Bend native, James was raised in the Mission Bend neighborhood and graduated from George Bush High School, where he played varsity football, ran track, and was President of the Debate team. With a passion for public service and civic engagement instilled at a young age, James started volunteering for Democratic campaigns as a teenager. He worked his way to become a pillar of the Democratic institution in Fort Bend and Harris County.
